EUSPA Special Session on Integrated Applications for a New EU Vision of Space Downstream
EUSPA is the user-oriented operational Agency of the EU Space Programme, contributing to sustainable growth, security and safety of the European Union. The main mission of the Agency is to implement the EU Space Program and to provide reliable, safe and secure space-related services, maximizing their socio-economic benefits for European society and business.
In the Special Session EUSPA will address the EU vision of Space-based Integrated Applications presenting some key Projects on farming, transport, rail and consumer terminals.
The Session’s Opening and Closing will focus on EUSPA’s integrated applications and services vision and new projects funding opportunities.

The Special Session is organized by Flavio Sbardellati, EUSPA, EU and Valeria Catalano, EUSPA, EU
Flavio Sbardellati, EU Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) Market Downstream and Innovation. took up his duties as Market Development Technology Officer at the European GNSS Agency (GSA), now EU Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA), in September 2015. He is currently leading the Team in charge of the Governmental market and downstream Research and Innovation within the Market Downstream and Innovation department. Prior to joining the EUSPA, Mr Sbardellati held several project management positions in both the aerospace and the telecommunications industry. Mr. Sbardellati received his master degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University “La Sapienza” in Rome, and holds a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.
Valeria Catalano is a Market Development Officer at the Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA). She has been working in the space world since fifteen years. She first worked in Thales Alenia Space Italy as antenna engineer. She was the technological designer of first Galileo satellite antenna. Then she joined the Italian Space Agency where she managed several space projects and missions in different areas as navigation and earth observation. In EUSPA she is responsible for the Infrastructure market segment development including related technological projects and she managing the R&D programme Fundamental Elements.
